F-IWQ1507 Water Quality Residual Chlorine Sensor

Model: F-IWQ1507
Basic Functions

Measures residual hypochlorous acid (HClO) in water using the constant-voltage method; simultaneously records water temperature and automatically compensates for it; two-point calibration involving a chlorine-free water zero point and a standard solution slope; Modbus read/write of real-time residual chlorine and temperature data; allows modification of the device’s communication address and switching of the communication baud rate; supports temperature offset correction.

Optional Features

Cable lengths can be customised to be longer; the flow-through cell is included as standard in the kit

Product Overview

The F-IWQ1507 utilises a constant-voltage detection principle and features a built-in Pt100 temperature compensation unit. When paired with a dedicated flow-through cell, it enables continuous monitoring of residual chlorine in piped water. It features a standard Modbus RS485 digital output and is pre-calibrated at the factory; two-point calibration is required only in the event of a numerical offset. Suitable for controlling disinfection concentration in water bodies such as water supply systems and swimming pools, it reduces the need for frequent on-site calibration and ensures stable control of water disinfection parameters.

Key Features

Adopts constant-potential electrode sensing structure for stable measurements, accurately reflecting the effective disinfectant hypochlorous acid (HClO) concentration in water.

Constructed with ABS/PC anti-corrosion alloy housing and IP68 fully sealed protection, suitable for long-term flow-through or submerged installation inside pipelines.

Comes with a dedicated flow cell to regulate flow velocity within 30~60 L/h, eliminating water flow interference and enhancing measuring precision.

Features standard 3/4 NPT thread; installation at an inclination ≥15° is allowed for compatibility with all types of water supply and circulating pipelines.

Supports standard Modbus RTU industrial bus, capable of connecting to global PLCs, RTUs and cloud monitoring platforms.

Ultra-low power consumption of only 0.2 W, ideal for long-term online monitoring at solar-powered field water supply stations.

Measuring range: 0~2 mg/L, matching regular disinfection concentration of drinking water and swimming pools, with resolution up to 0.001 mg/L.

Electrodes only require 24-hour soaking activation after factory delivery or long idle storage, pre-calibrated before shipment for effortless daily maintenance.

Applications

Monitoring of residual chlorine in water supply networks of water treatment works, bottled water production lines, swimming pools, industrial cooling circulation water, and water treatment disinfection processes.

Q1 What pre-treatment is required before a new electrode is put into use after prolonged storage?

A Soak the sensor in tap water and leave it undisturbed for 24 hours to activate the electrode; proceed with calibration and measurement only after activation is complete.

Q2 What is the complete two-point calibration procedure?

A Zero calibration: Place the sensor in chlorine-free pure water and perform the calibration once the reading has stabilised;Slope calibration: Introduce a 1–2 mg/L standard residual chlorine solution into the flow-through cell; complete the calibration once the reading has stabilised.

Q3 What are the mandatory specifications for flow-through cell installation and water flow?

A Position the sensor’s measuring end close to the inlet and away from the outlet; maintain a flow rate of 30–60 L/h; the entire unit must be tilted at an angle of ≥15°; horizontal or inverted installation is prohibited.
